LEWISBURG, Pa. — Representatives from the Bucknell University Small Business Development Center will be available at local legislators' offices this summer to provide entrepreneurs with free consulting services and information.
This one-on-one consulting emphasizes education to those interested in starting a new business, or expanding their existing business. Consulting is confidential and provided at no charge. Typical business topics include how to start a business, financial analysis, hiring employees, bookkeeping, preparing a business plan, financial forecasting, and marketing strategies for growth.
Appointments are required and must be scheduled two business days prior to a meeting date. For more information and to schedule an appointment, residents should contact the Bucknell SBDC office at 570-577-1249, or toll free at 1-866-375-6010. Assistance will be available at:
- Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver's office, 106 Arch St., Sunbury: July 16 -July 18, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Rep. Kurt Masser's office, 467 Industrial Park Road, Elysburg: July 24, July 31 and Aug 13, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Rep. Mark Keller's office, 18 W. Main St., New Bloomfield: July 25 - July 26, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Rep. Fred Keller constituents will meet at Mifflinburg Bank Community Room, 250 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg: Aug. 16 and 20, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Bucknell SBDC has been helping businesses Start, Grow, and Prosper for more than 30 years in Juniata, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder and Union counties. SBDC consultants are available to assist business owners who are just getting started investigating a business model, developing a business plan and need some coaching, or are seeking to reinvent, innovate, and grow an existing business.
