Jim Rice, Associate ProvostJim Rice, Associate Provost, has worked at Bucknell since 1989 in a variety of roles relating to academic program/curriculum development and planning, undergraduate research and faculty scholarly support, Graduate Studies, academic fundraising, and academic facilities planning. Rice earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and has focused his scholarly work on comparative literature and East Asia. He has taught in the East Asian Studies (Chair, 1995-97) and Comparative Humanities programs at Bucknell and is the recipient of Fulbright grants supporting work and study in Asia (India and Hong Kong).

Rice's current responsibilities include oversight of the Office of International Education, Weis Center for the Performing Arts, Samek Gallery, Bucknell University Environmental Center (BUEC), Stadler Poetry Center, Program for Undergraduate Research, Bucknell University Press, The Bucknellian /WVBU, the Bucknell-Geisinger Research Initiative (BGRI), and special academic programming and colloquia.
