SBDC to host Quickbooks workshops in October

LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will offer three "Quickbooks for Small Business Owners" workshops Oct. 10, 11 and 12 in the SBDC Business Education Center, located in the DeWitt Building on Market Street in Lewisburg.
The schedule is:
- "Quickbooks Basic," Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; system requirements, choosing the appropriate version of Quickbooks, general navigation, setting up your company, setting up the chart of accounts, opening balances, setting up vendors and customers, company preferences, creating transactions including deposits, checks and transferring funds, creating classes for detailing information and reconciling bank accounts.
- "Quickbooks Intermediate," Thursday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; accounts payable, credit cards, setting up items, customizing invoices, creating invoices, sales receipts and credit memo/refunds, posting payments and making deposits, creating estimates and working with inventory.
- "Quickbooks Advanced and Payroll," Friday, Oct. 12 , from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; using purchase orders, creating sales orders, working with price levels, using forms and letters, creating labels, importing and exporting lists from Excel and an overview of payroll.
Registration for these workshops is $75 each; veterans may attend at no cost. Seating is limited and registration is required. Registration includes a one-year subscription to Inc. magazine.
Diana Dorman, a seminar instructor and small business Quickbooks consultant with 15 years' Quickbooks training experience, will lead the seminars. An independent consultant to small business clients, she trained under Real World Training for Quickbooks and is a Certified Quickbooks Pro instructor.
The Bucknell SBDC has been helping businesses Start, Grow, and Prosper for more than 30 years in Juniata, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder and Union counties. SBDC consultants are available to assist business owners who are just getting started investigating a business model, developing a business plan and need some coaching, or are seeking to reinvent, innovate, and grow an existing business.
