West Fields Athletic Fields: The Final Phase
A home run for baseball and softball
Located directly across Route 15 from the main campus, West Fields is home to six varsity athletics teams as well as Bucknell recreation and intramural programs. The complex has been developed in several coordinated phases. Field hockey, women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s soccer have benefited greatly from new and upgraded facilities, which are among the best in the Patriot League.
Now, the final phase will bring extensive enhancements to the baseball and softball facilities. Donor support is needed to help us round third and head for home.
This stage of West Fields development will:
- Meet or exceed Patriot League standards for baseball and softball facilities
- Help attract and retain the best coaches
- Provide powerful recruiting tools to compete for the most promising student-athletes

- New in-ground team dugouts with storage area
- “Bucknell Brick” backstops

Two-hundred forty-seven Bucknell student-athletes posted a GPA of at least 3.50 and scored a spot on the 2012 fall semester dean's list. They included 36 team captains and 26 student-athletes who earned perfect 4.0 averages.
