What did you enjoy most about your internship?
It helped me get accustomed to what working in an office is like (office etiquette, etc.) and gave me first hand insight into the political sector. I also enjoyed how my work was not limited to politics and I did many things that related to other subject matter, such as economics, writing, and general research and note taking.
What was the most difficult aspect of the internship?
I had to keep much of my work a secret and could not completely discuss what I was doing with my family; it was an extremely serious environment.
How did your experience at Bucknell prepare you for your internship? How did your internship prepare you for a career?
My courses at Bucknell provided me with background information about the industry. My internship helped me prepare for careers in the future because I had a true office experience.
What recommendations do you have for other students considering doing an internship?
Definitely, definitely do one. It is 150% helpful in the future to have early on work experience. Take everything you can out of the experience as well. While I do not wish to pursue a career in politics, this internship helped me gain connections that will still be beneficial in the future.
