Awards and Honors
Bucknell University has a long tradition of recognizing the accomplishments of our students in the classroom, the lab, and the playing field, as well as the University community and the world beyond Bucknell. The Provost's office working with faculty and staff throughout the University formally acknowledges these accomplishments with a variety of endowed and named awards.
Faculty are honored for outstanding teaching and scholarly accomplishments during our annual commencement ceremony.
- Annual Student Awards
The outstanding achievements of students during the first year, sophomore, and junior years are recognized each fall semester during the Fall Student Awards Ceremony, traditionally held during Family Weekend.
- Senior Prizes and Academic Awards
The accomplishments of our seniors are celebrated during Commencement Weekend at the President's Senior Award Ceremony. These prizes and awards are not given unless a high degree of merit has been achieved.
- Annual Teaching Awards
Each year during Commencement, Bucknell recognizes the exceptional talent of our faculty with the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching, Class of 1956 Lectureship for Inspirational Teaching, Presidential Awards for Teaching Excellence, and the William Pierce Boger, Jr., M.D. Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Natural Sciences.
