How We Can Help

At Bucknell, the Assistant Provost for Research and Corporate and Foundation Relations provide assistance at every step of the grant-seeking process. If you are new to Bucknell or if you are an experienced grant seeker, we can help to improve the quality of your submission and ensure a greater likelihood of funding by assisting you with:

Developing programs and ideas
We can consult with you in an initial meeting to determine grant-seeking goals.

Identifying public and private funding prospects
We can conduct searches for external sources of support using specialized databases. Bucknell faculty and staff also are free to use Pivot, a database of funders.

Writing and editing proposal narratives and budgets
Our experienced staff can help with writing and editing documents included in your proposal package.

Securing internal approvals
All proposals submitted by faculty and staff to outside organizations must be approved internally prior to submission. Our staff can help to fill out and steward the appropriate forms through the approval process. This process can take up to two weeks.

Complying with internal and external policies
Myriad regulations and rules apply to seeking funds and implementing grant-funded projects. Our office can help to ensure that faculty and staff understand policies and abide by them from the earliest stages of proposal development.

Submitting proposals
Many submissions to outside agencies are sent by the Assistant Provost for Research on behalf of the University.
