FAQ's for individual inventors

I have an idea for a new product, what do I do first?

First, you complete a request for consulting with your local SBDC. They have access to a variety of resources to assist you in your effort to bring the product to market, including the specialized services of the EDS.

Will you build a prototype for me? What will it cost?

If we do build a prototype (or protocept) for a client, we ask only that you pay for the materials - the rest is on us. Please do keep in mind, however, that building a prototype is never the first place to start product development.

If building a prototype is not the first place to start, then what is?

Click on this link to get an overview of our Flexi-Trac Client Mapping (TM) system to see an overview of the whole product development process.
