Visiting Assistant Professor of Physical Geography/GIS

The Geography Department at Bucknell University is accepting applications for a 1-year visiting assistant professor position for the 2013-2014 academic year.  A completed or nearly completed Ph.D. in physical or human-environmental geography and some teaching experience are required. Teaching responsibilities totaling 4-6 courses per year (depending on labs) will include an introductory GIS course and human impact on the environment, and some combination of general physical geography,  climate change, weather and climate, landforms and/or a course in the successful candidate's specialty.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Cultural Geography

The Geography Department at Bucknell University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Cultural Geography position to start in the 2013-2014 academic year. This position is for at least one academic year and may continue for up to an additional three years contingent on performance and university need. Teaching responsibilities total 3 courses per semester.  A completed or nearly completed  PhD in Geography is required and some teaching experience is essential.

The Department is especially interested in candidates who are broadly trained in human geography, and able to teach cultural geography, introductory human geography, as well as additional courses in the candidate's area of interest, ideally focusing on such concepts as gender, race, class, sexuality, mobility, place, and/or landscape.
