Faculty Workshop on Civic Engagement and Service-Learning

It's not too late to sign up for the Faculty Workshop on Civic Engagement and Service-Learning to be held next month.  This annual development program for instructors will be held May 20, 21, 22 8:30 – 12 noon.

Those who want to promote active learning and structure opportunities for students to use disciplinary knowledge outside the classroom, this interactive workshop will help faculty revise an existing course or develop a new course.  Stipends of $500 are being made available to professors who participate in all three half days of the workshop and submit a syllabus that includes a significant service-learning component. The session will address issues of theory, community partnerships, and appropriate reflection activities.  For more information, contact the Office of Service-Learning at 577-3973.
