Insurance -- Non-University Functions
All conference groups using Bucknell's facilities must agree to accept responsibility for any injury to person or property resulting therefrom and file a certificate of liability insurance clearly indicating that the coverage extends to use of Bucknell's facilities on the time(s) and date(s) of scheduled event(s). The producer, insured and certificate holder must be identified on the certificate. The University requires a minimum limit of $2,000,000* per occurrence for public liability. Further, it is required that Bucknell University be named as additional insured. This policy will be primary to any other coverage maintained by the additional insured when the sole negligence of the insured results in litigation in which the additional insured is also named as defendant. The additional insured will be provided with legal defense in accordance with the terms of this policy. The certificate must be completed, signed by your agent and returned to the Events Management Office at least (6) weeks prior to the arrival of the group.
*Any person and/or organization sponsoring a non-University function that is athletic in nature, must provide a minimum of $5,000,000 in liability insurance.
Rates are established in consultation with the Associate Vice President for Finance and approved by the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
Prices will be computed using a cost-plus rent model.
The University has recognized a three tiered price structure:
1.) Full rate for "for-profit" groups.
2.) Non-profit groups may possibly have a reduction in rates.
3.) Recognized friends of the University may be somewhat "subsidized" by the University.
Summer conferences begin the Thursday after the Sunday of Reunion weekend and goes through the first week in August. Day conferences and one day workshops/seminars may be scheduled during the academic year if space permits and at the approval of service departments.
