All twelve members of our faculty have active research programs involving undergraduates and masters students. About 25 undergraduates per semester are enrolled in research courses for credit, and 25-35 students per summer participate in our summer research program.

April 2008 - Congrats to four chemists inducted into Phi Beta Kappa this year:  Bryan Bzdek, Adam Catherman, Nicole Cohen, and Nate Contrella.   Here are the 5 chemists in PBK at the recent ceremony: Jayne Kubat (inducted last year), Nate Contrella, Nicole Cohen, Bryan Bzdek, Adam Catherman.  Well done!

April 2008 - Congrats to Bryan Bzdek (B.S. '08) who received a student travel award from the Clay Minerals Society to present his research at the 235th national meeting of the American Chemical Society in New Orleans.  At the meeting, Bryan was recognized by the Division of Geochemistry for having one of the "Top Undergraduate Posters."

February 2008 - Open positions in the chemistry department announced.

January 2008 - The new NSF-funded atomic force microscope is installed and students and faculty are taking data.  Congratutaions to Prof. Molly McGuire, the PI on the grant and co-PIs Prof. Tim Raymond and Prof. Erin Jablonski.

January 2008 - STUDENTS : summer research approaching fast - this is a good time to contact professors and fill out applications.

August 2007 - Congratulations to Prof. Dennis Dougherty (Bucknell B.S.-M.S. -'74) on receiving the James Flack Norris Award!

August 2007 - The chemistry warmly invites students and faculty atten the 4'th Annual NMR Conference to be held on Sept. 29, 2007!

August 2007 - A warm welcome to  Dr. Nicole Crowder, Dr. J. Clay Harris, Dr. William Kerber, and Dr. Thomas Murosky to Bucknell Chemistry for 2007-2008!

September 2006 - Bucknell Alum Frank "Biff" Williams receives ACS National Award :  2007 Earle B. Barnes Award for Leadership in Chemical Research  Management

September 2006 - Senior chemistry major Brit Merola receives WCC funding to present her work at 2006 Fall ACS National Meeting in San Francisco.
