Dumpling making has been an essential event in the history of the Chinese Culture and Student Association.

We are able to reach out to many groups of students and teach them how to make dumplings as well as the history of dumpling making.

Practicing Calligraphy

EAST 120 ("Intro to Chinese Culture") students learned and practiced the "regular script" of calligraphy, showcasing particular features of Chinese philosophy and religion, such as Dao and "Good will be rewarded with good," and universal values of human experience, such as love, "Practice what you preach," and "Actions speak louder than words."

The Basics of Japanese Cuisine

On November 10, 2015, Elizabeth Armstrong (East Asian Studies Department) held a workshop/tutorial on the basics of Japanese cuisine. Students from all disciplines gathered to learn how to prepare, cook and present an elegant and simple meal. (7th Street Café)
