Admission to the Major

Economics Department - - Bucknell University

Students must apply for admission to the major, either in fall or spring of their sophomore year.  Applicants must complete a short admission form (available at the information meeting announced by the dean’s office or at the Departmental Secretary’s office) and return the form with a copy of their Banner Academic progress report by the due date specified on the form.  This form will indicate the student's interest in the major, along with his or her academic status. We will admit approximately 100 students per class year.  When the number of applicants reaches above the threshold of 100, acceptance to the Economics major will emphasize academic achievement, with emphasis on performance in Economics classes. It is strongly urged for those with interest in the economics major to register for economics courses during their freshman year. (see FAQs page for suggestions)
