Theatre has always attracted me for its ability to create change. I want to link my major in theatre with my major in psychology to raise awareness about psychological issues.

"When I was deciding where to go to college, what distinguished Bucknell from all other schools was its energy. It's such a welcoming and supportive environment. Arts Merit Scholar selection weekend confirmed that I needed to attend Bucknell. It gave me a better sense of the second home and family that it would come to be.

"The opportunities at Bucknell are extremely unique. Being at a liberal arts institution has allowed me to explore everything that interests me. I've been able to dabble in many different subjects to discover what I wish to study further. I've both broadened and narrowed in on my interests and long-term goals.

"Theatre has always attracted me for its ability to create change. Prof. Anjalee Hutchinson's class on directing started me on my journey of exploring what exactly draws me in about theatre. I want to link my major in theatre with my major in psychology to raise awareness about psychological issues.

"Prof. Bill Flack's class, Abnormal and Clinical Psychology, has stimulated my thinking about the human mind and has sparked a deeper interest in psychology. I've become more involved in the department by visiting the Danville State Psychiatric Hospital twice a week. One of the days I interact with the patients and play games with them, and on the other I follow a clinical psychologist. Both experiences have been extremely eye-opening."

Gwenn is from Rhinebeck, N.Y.
