Student Telephone Services
Bucknell University owns and operates its own telephone system. At least one student in each room should provide a phone for use. About Phone Service- Choose an appropriate phone for your room. (Phone recommendations)
- Your phone can be used to place local and on-campus calls, and can be directly dialed from off campus.
- Long distance service is available to students by using a Personal Account Code (PAC), telephone company calling card or by placing collect calls.
- Telephone numbers are permanently assigned to university owned rooms. The number is located on the jack designated with a black "voice" icon.
- The cost of labor and materials needed to correct willful damage to telephone equipment or to correct problems caused by connecting personal equipment will be divided among room occupants.
- Each student has been assigned his/her own voice mailbox. Voice Mail is indicated by either a broken dial tone, or a phone equipped with a "Voicemail compatible light". (Top Ten Reasons to use Voicemail)
Rates- 7.9¢ per minute for all calls in the USA!
- All international calls are 10 cents per minute
- As with all plans, a 6% PA sales tax is also charged.

Personal Access Codes (PAC)Students will be provided a PAC to allow toll calls to be dialed directly and billed to the student's university account. - There is no charge for a PAC.
- There is no montly fee or setup fee for a PAC. You will only be charged for the calls that are made using the PAC.
- The student is responsible for all charges related to the PAC code. All PAC policies must be adhered to.
- If you forget your PAC number, you can log into myBucknell and review your PAC information beneath the myBucknell for Students Tab.
Billing Information- A monthly email is sent that lists the total toll amount. A detailed list of toll calls and toll charges can be viewed on the Banner web page.
- The total toll amount will become an item in your student accommodation bill which is payable at the Cashier's Office by the date indicated on the bill.
- Failure to pay the toll charges when due can result in loss of toll telephone service.
- Questions regarding your itemized statement should be referred to the Telecommunications Office at ext. 71810. Questions about your accommodation bill itself (including payment information) should be referred to the Finance Office at ext. 73733.
