International Education

Several years ago, a group of poets and writers led a political demonstration in Russia – that’s how much language matters in Russian society. As a student in this program, you’ll come to understand Russia’s culture and society and the life experiences of its people.

We offer four levels of language study, along with courses in business Russian, history, film, theatre, literature and politics. You'll be ready to work in Russia and with Russian businesses, head off to grad school, teach and more.

Did You Know?

Knowledge of the Russian language and culture will help students to take full advantage of opportunities which the New Russia offers.

The program offers two minors — one in Russian language, the other in Russian studies.

Selected students may choose to participate in the Honors Program in Russian, completing an honors thesis in their senior year.

Many Russian Studies students combine their major in Russian Studies with one in international relations.

Why Russian?

We asked students to tell us in five words or less why they love Russian.
