Customizing Options
The Bison Laptop Program laptops are already customized to include the suggested options for a Bucknell student. When purchasing your laptop through the Dell and Apple stores you can elect to customize the configuration.
What we're recommending
- Every one of our models will work for every major at Bucknell
- Our base configuration will work for your 4 years at Bucknell
- Students can use either Macs or PCs at Bucknell - both will work fine
- Our PC laptops include Accidental Damage coverage (not available in FL)
- Our Apple recommendations include 3 years of Apple Care
Warranty and support
You cannot buy one of our PC laptops without Accidental Damage coverage. Our experience has shown that this warranty coverage is well worth it - we see dozens of spills and drops every year, resulting in damage to system boards that can cost between $700-$800 without Accidental Damage.
Apple does not offer Accidental Damage, but their standard warranty is only one year - we highly recommend extending AppleCare to at least 3 years.
Warranty coverage is more expensive in the short term, but you will take your laptop with you everywhere you go for 4 years . . . the warranty coverage has saved many Bucknell students!
Bison laptop computers include full support and we use business class models that have been proven over the years. We cannot provide the same level of support for consumer-level computers purchased outside of the program, but you will find laptops that are priced lower than our offerings. Please take warranty and support information into account during your purchase!
