The Bucknell Wilderness Experience known as BuckWild is a dynamic outdoor pre-orientation program held in Central Pennsylvania surrounding Lewisburg and Bucknell during the week leading up to New Student Orientation.
Participating in BuckWild is a great way to face the challenges of transitioning into the university. You will meet your new classmates, learn more about yourself, build relationships from upper class peer mentors, and have a whole lot of fun! We have several trip options to choose from including Service based expeditions, multi-element expeditions, backpacking, rock climbing, caving, paddling, and more!! See trip details below.
BuckWild Dates: August 17 -2 1, 201. The 2014 Program included activies:
"[I learned] Perseverance is so important in every aspect of life, both in rock climbing and in academics."
- Meghan Reilly
The BOC leads weekly trips off camps (usually Saturdays) to do everything from hiking and rock climbing to caving and white water rafting.
"...when you're in the wilderness you are able to find yourself and build amazing friendships."
