The Bucknell wilderness experience known as BuckWild is a dynamic outdoor pre-orientation program held in Central Pennsylvania.
The goal of BuckWild is to help you transition into life at Bucknell. College can be tough because not only is it the first time for many students to have full control and freedom over their own lives but also have new experiences, meet new people and adapt to a new culture and community. To help with some of these challenges BuckWild aims to connect you with fellow classmates, introduce you to upperclassmen mentors and campus culture, build teamwork, enhance leadership skills, and broaden your perspectives. All of this contributes to the foundation of a support network for the rest of your time at Bucknell. We believe this experience will help you boost personal confidence and manage academic, social and personal challenges accordingly.
Bucknell University is known not only for providing its students with a world-class education but also with the tools to succeed outside of the classroom. Today's graduates will leave Bucknell with a tremendous education including strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills whether in the backcountry, the classroom, the boardroom, or the lab.
