Bill Conley

Bill has 32 years of experience in higher education, including 18 years as a director or dean of admissions. In July 2012, he joined Bucknell University after serving as dean of enrollment and academic services for 10 years at Johns Hopkins University. At Bucknell he will oversee the enrollment management, admissions and financial aid operations.

Bill served as dean of undergraduate admission at Case Western Reserve University from 1990-2002 and from 1984-90 he was director of admission at Drew University and associate director of admission at Lafayette College from 1980-84. Prior to his admission and enrollment management career, Bill taught AP American History and Economics and coached soccer, swimming and tennis at the Delbarton School in Morristown, N.J.

He is past-president of NJACAC (New Jersey Association of College Admission Counseling), former vice-president of professional development for NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counseling), past-director of MECA (an intensive workshop for new deans and directors of admissions), served as a faculty member of NACAC's Admission Middle Management Institute (AMMI) and is a frequent presenter at professional conferences.

Bill earned a B.A. in History from Colgate University (where he played intercollegiate tennis) in 1976 and an M.Ed. from Harvard University in 1980.

His wife of 33 years, Annie, is a career educator who most recently served as associate director of admissions at St. Paul's School for Girls in Baltimore. They have two children, Nicholas (Denison University '09) and Anna (Washington University in St. Louis '13).
