Civil and environmental engineers keeps the infrastructure we use every day safe, efficient and sustainable, and can make our lives better and our earth cleaner. Through our program, you'll learn the skills to plan, design, construct and maintain roads, bridges, buildings, pipelines and treatment systems. In our liberal arts environment, you'll also develop your writing, communication and critical thinking skills to take your career to the next level.

Bucknell's facilities and instrumentation allow students to participate as active learners, not as observers, in class and laboratories.
Students are encouraged to participate in research opportunities during the academic year and summer including, but not limited to, water resources, geotechnical, transportation, structural and environmental.

About 20 percent of our engineering students study overseas in their junior year at such locations as the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and the University of Queensland in Australia.
For students unable to spend a full semester or year abroad, Bucknell offers a three-week program, ENGR 290: Engineering in a Global/Societal Context.
