Getting you ready for Bucknell!
Whether your first day on campus is for an athletic pre-season, a pre-orientation program, or New Student Orientation, the entire Bucknell community is ready to welcome you.
Your Orientation Assistants (OA) will greet you when you arrive for New Student Orientation, a five-day program centered on scholarship, community, and the rich traditions you will find at your university. You will bond with your classmates through a variety of Orientation events while becoming familiar with the campus and resources available to you. Your faculty will introduce you the collegiate classroom, providing information about your fall course schedule and all the academic opportunities Bucknell has to offer.
Throughout your first year you will live in intentional residential communities with Residential Advisers, and if you are part of a Residential College, you’ll also have a Junior Fellow on your floor. These upperclass students will assist you in building friendships and navigating your first year, and you will also find that your OAs and many upper class students will serve as informal mentors and guides.
The links below will redirect you to numerous programs designed specifically for your first year. From summer Bison Gatherings and pre-Orientation programs through Orientation and into your first semester, Bucknell’s faculty, staff, and students are dedicated to your success and look forward to welcoming you to your new community.
Orientation Leaders and Coordinators plan all year for the arrival of the incoming class. In August, a team of 100 Orientation Assistants (OAs) will join them in introducing our newest Bucknellians to each other and assisting their transition to the scholarship, community and traditions of Bucknell.
