Robert Midkiff, Associate Provost, Registrar, Dean of Graduate Studies and Dean of Summer SessionRobert Midkiff is a native of West Virginia who completed his BA degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice at The Ohio State University. He holds MA and PhD degrees in educational psychology with specializations in clinical child and school psychology from Arizona State University and completed his predoctoral internship at the Johns Hopkins Hospitals and School of Medicine and Kennedy Institute for Handicapped Children. Midkiff is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist who has specialized in the assessment and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. He has been a faculty member and administrator at Bucknell since 1987.

Prior to his appointment as Associate Provost, Midkiff served as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Associate Professor and Chair of the Education department, as well as Director of the counseling and school psychology programs within the department. His teaching interests are in psychological assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families, research methods and statistics, and educational psychology. Midkiff has been active in scholarship addressing the social and emotional aspects of achievement motivation and self-concept in school settings. His most recent research examines the impact of college on development of students and reciprocal relationships between fathers and children and how the assumption of the father role impacts men’s development.
