Career assessments are most helpful if you feel you are unsure of what career paths may be a good fit for you, or if you feel you are in a career that is unsatisfying. If you are confident about what you want to do, you probably want to skip these exercises.

Career Assessment Tools

Bucknell offers two assessments at no charge to alumni. The first instrument, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator provides a useful way of describing your personality by looking at your preferences and recognizing what kinds of work may make you most comfortable and fulfilled. The second assessment, the Strong Interest Inventory, examines your interests as they relate to various careers.

The assessments are taken online and consist of a series of questions with no right or wrong answer. You cannot prepare for the assessment and should answer the questions honestly and quickly without much deep thought.

Once you have completed the assessments we will contact you to schedule an appointment with the Program Director to review the results and discuss a plan for you to proceed.

Values Inventory

Values also play an important role in guiding your actions, and you have a built-in values structure that affects your decisions.
