Kyle assists faculty and students in establishing relationships with community-based organizations for service-learning placements. He also meets with students and faculty to develop new service-learning courses and projects, and to refine existing opportunities. Additionally, Kyle oversees the Lewisburg Community Garden, and helps facilitate the Bucknell Brigade to Nicaragua and the Katrina Recovery Team service-learning alternative break programs.

Lynn assists students with identifying their community service and volunteer interests and then connecting them with sites in the Lewisburg community and surrounding counties as appropriate. She facilitates both on-campus and off-campus service events and activities, including the Community Harvest hot meal program. Local agencies frequently contact her with their volunteer needs, and she works to identify available resources. Annual programs like the Service Fair, Turkey and Trimmings, the Giving Tree, the Polar Bear Plunge, Empty Bowls and Thaw Out are overseen by Lynn.

Jen Schneidman Partica, Farm and Garden Coordinator

Jen is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Lewisburg Community Garden, including deciding what to plant, determining when things are ready to harvest, recruiting and managing volunteers, and setting weekly task priorities. Additionally, she coordinates many of the Garden’s special events, including the free Community Enrichment Workshop Series, and assists plot renters with troubleshooting issues. Jen also plays an integral role with the new Bucknell University Farm, working with an interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff, and students to develop a 5-acre space on campus to promote organic food production, support increased research opportunities, and provide an opportunity for all members of the Bucknell community to connect with nature.

David Laundenslager, AmeriCorps Youth Outreach Coordinator

David is serving a one-year contract as the AmeriCorps Youth Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Civic Engagement. He coordinates Bucknell Buddies, and provides ESL tutors to local students in need. David trains a cadre of Bucknell students to effectively engage with K-12 youth and provide both academic support and life skills mentoring.

Kacey McKnight, AmeriCorps Food Access Coordinator

The Food Access Coordinator assists the LCG in advancing its goals of providing approximately 40 low-cost garden plots for rent to local individuals, families, or groups, growing organic produce to donate to area hot meal and food security programs, and offering increased educational opportunities that emphasize sustainability, nutrition, organic growing practices, and environmental stewardship. The Food Access Coordinator also helps with recruiting volunteers and planning and preparing meals for 70-100 patrons at the free weekly Community Harvest hot meal program in Milton, and coordinating the Snack Pack program, which serves monthly brown bag meals to approximately 100 children per month in the Lewisburg Area School District.
