If you're mailing a letter or parcel internationally, please follow these guidelines:

  • For personal mail, visit the LC Post Office to obtain proper postage.
  • Some packages require customs documentation. (see below)
  • For departmental mail, international mail should be submitted separate from U.S. mail with its own mailing accounting sheet attached.

Customs Declarations

Please read the two customs declaration descriptions below to find out if your package needs a US Customs Declaration. If it does, you will need to fill out the form, print it, and bring it with your package to the Post Office. See below for clarification on which of the forms to use for your package. You can fill out and print the appropriate form by clicking on the form names.

PS Form 2976 Customs Declaration

  • If your package weighs more than 16 ounces and less than 4 pounds
  • If your packages is more than 3/4-inch thick or contains dutiable goods
  • Unnecessary if your package only contains documents and weighs less than 16 ounces

PS Form 2976-A Customs Declaration

  • If your package weighs more than 4 pounds
  • Unnecessary if your package only contains documents and weighs less than 16 ounces

Shipping Internationally Using UPS or Fed-Ex

If you are shipping goods internationally using UPS or Fed-Ex, you will also need to complete the UPS-FedEx Commerical Invoice.
