Bucknell's Martin Luther King Jr. Week brought to campus social justice leaders to discuss King's legacy of peace and nonviolence.

The 2017 series, "Charleston, Rwanda and the Possibilities for Peace," took place from Jan. 16 to 22 and included a charitable gift drive and an array of events designed to raise awareness and empower participants to enact individual and community change.

Charitable Donations Drive

Thank you to all members of the campus community who donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. Week Charitable Donations Drive.

Collection Totals:

  • personal hygiene items: 256 items
  • children's hats/mittens: 90 sets
  • school supplies/arts/crafts: 180 items
  • sports equipment: 40 items
  • boxed cereal: 56 boxes

Organizations supported with these donations:

  • Head Start Lewisburg comprehensive preschool program
    Kelly Elementary Snack Pack
  • Milton Developmental Services
  • Milton YMCA
  • Transitions crisis center

Summary of Events

"Charleston, Rwanda and the Possibilities for Peace" included lectures, discussions and workshops for students, faculty and staff.
