Ken Ogawa became the Associate Vice President for Facilities & Sustainability in April 2016.  He oversees the overall planning, development and management of 3 million square feet of facilities and 550 acres of grounds, including the operation and maintenance of the physical facilities and related services to the campus community, the development and implementation of capital construction projects, and contracting of services.  He also oversees long range strategic initiatives including maintaining the campus master plan, managing campus wide sustainability programs, and enhancing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

He has served as the Treasurer of the Philadelphia Energy Authority since 2011 where he helped launch the $1 billion, public-private financed, Philadelphia Energy Campaign, aimed at reducing energy consumption across the City of Philadelphia.  In 2015, he founded Encent LLC whose mission is to enhance consumer awareness of financial incentives available for energy saving products.   Prior to joining Bucknell, he was the Executive Director of Operations and Maintenance at the University of Pennsylvania and served in the Navy for 22 years.    Mr. Ogawa has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.    He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Educational Facilities Professional.
