I am writing with an update on an important University initiative that I first shared with you in my annual summer email to campus: our transition to the software system Workday. As I mentioned in August, Workday is a modern, cloud-based software solution that will replace many of the functions currently performed in Banner, specifically addressing our HR, payroll and financial needs. The Workday system will allow Bucknell to reimagine and align certain business practices, enabling our colleagues in HR and Finance to better support the campus and develop more efficient processes. Since early 2016, the team assigned to this project has invested a tremendous amount of time and energy in understanding the University’s needs in these areas and preparing Workday for a summer 2017 launch. We will ensure that you have access to adequate training resources prior to launch.

We are also committed to providing you with clear and ongoing communication about the project’s progress through a variety of means, including the web resource bucknell.edu/workday. You will find on this site a wealth of information, including a broad timeline, FAQs, commonly used Workday terms, news and updates, and more. Please keep this site handy as a resource to help answer any questions you may have about this project.

Thank you for your attention to this very important initiative. We are confident that Workday will make it easier for you and all of your colleagues at Bucknell to access and manage your personal HR- and finance-related information, and improve the University’s overall efficiency and effectiveness on an enterprise level.

My best,
John Bravman signature
