Georgina Dodge joined Bucknell as associate provost for diversity, equity & inclusion in August 2017.

Reporting to the provost and serving on the Provost's Council, Dodge oversees five campus organizations, including the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Gender; the Office of Accessibility Resources; the Office of Civic Engagement; the Griot Institute for Africana Studies; and the Teaching & Learning Center. Georgina also holds the title of adjunct associate professor of English.

A U.S. Navy veteran, She also serves on the President's Diversity Council, which in 2014 embarked on a five-year Diversity Plan for Bucknell. The plan embraces the concept of diversity as necessary for achieving a vibrant, inclusive community that reflects the world beyond Bucknell, challenges and encourages the broadening of perspectives and worldviews and helps prepare students to make valuable contributions as citizens of a diverse, globally integrated world.

In addition to a strong academic background, Georgina brings to Bucknell administrative expertise addressing and working with a broad range of audiences. She came to Bucknell from the University of Iowa where, as chief diversity officer, associate vice president and Title IX coordinator, she played an important role in positively shaping the university's culture and was a strong advocate for the rights of all members of the Iowa community.

Before her work at Iowa, Dodge spent 14 years at the Ohio State University, where she provided leadership supporting the success of underrepresented students, faculty and staff through the Office of Minority Affairs and was assistant vice provost, among other positions, including assistant professor of English.

Georgina earned an A.A. from Golden West Community College; a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She speaks frequently around the country on diversity and leadership issues.

Teaching & Learning Center

Bucknell University has long been known for its high quality teaching. In keeping with this tradition, the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) was created in 2006 by the Provost and the Faculty Advisory Committee on Teaching to further enhance teaching and learning at Bucknell.
