Engineering Student Research Symposium
Each year the Bucknell College of Engineering holds an Engineering Student Research Symposium to showcase the work that's being performed by our talented students.
Kalman Research Symposium
The annual Kalman Research Symposium is open to all Bucknell students (undergraduate and graduate levels) who wish to make a presentation on a completed or ongoing research project or Honors Thesis project. Presentations may be made in one of two venues: a poster session, in which the students present a graphic representation of their work, or a short oral presentation.
The Symposium features work by students in the Bucknell Program for Undergraduate Research, the McKenna Fellows, the REU program, Sigma Xi, and any other independent or individual research project undertaken by a Bucknell student with a faculty mentor.
Sigma XI Poster Session
Bucknell's Chapter of Sigma XI, The Scientific Research Society sponsors a research poster session at the end of the summer research session. Approximately 25-30 students and 20 faculty participate annually.
The Bucknell Chapter of Sigma Xi is comprised of many faculty from each of our science and engineering departments. Our chapter promotes scientific activities at Bucknell by sponsoring lectures, nominating students for membership to recognize outstanding research, and hosting a poster session for summer student research.
Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium
For the past several years, central Pennsylvania undergraduates from all disciplines have been invited to submit abstracts for poster presentation at the Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium. This Symposium is sponsored jointly by the Geisinger Center for Health Research, and Bloomsburg, Susquehanna and Bucknell Universities. It is an opportunity for students in central Pennsylvania to showcase their research activities, to learn about other methods and disciplines, and to gain the experience of presenting at a professional conference.
Travel Funds to Support Research
Funds are available to offset the cost of travel to present a poster or oral presentation of research at a national or regional conference.
