Watershed Sciences and Engineering Program promotes excellence in teaching and learning, scientific inquiry and research, educational outreach, and University service by enriching the connection between Bucknell, the Susquehanna River, and watersheds throughout the world.

Place

The Place Studies Program provides opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching, research, and outreach in the Susquehanna River Valley that recognizes the importance of natural, social, and cultural environments to the formation of individual, group, and communal identities.

Design

The Sustainable Design Program engages students, faculty, and staff in projects that study the University’s ecological footprint, and provides hands-on opportunities to explore current topics like renewable energy, organic gardening, and stream restoration.

Sustainabilities

The Global Sustainabilities Program examines complex global issues where environmental, social, cultural, and economic concerns intersect.
