July 2013

In the 2013-14 season, the Stadler Center offers a full schedule of exciting and enriching events and author visits, including Marilyn Hacker as Sojka Visting Poet in the fall and Dean Young as Poet-in-Residence in the spring. Please see our "Events" page for a full listing of this year's readings and author visits. Hacker and Young, along with eight other poets, will be featured in the 2013-14 installment of the Poetry Path, the Stadler Center's public art project, now in its second year.

After several years of hosting renowned authors of children's literature, we have formally inaugurated the "Stadler Center Children's Series," a series of events for children aged 4 to 12. This year's series includes Jen Bryant, Fiona Powell, and Jane Yolen.

We are pleased to announce an expansion of our Philip Roth Residence in Creative Writing, which marks its 20th anniversary this year. We have added a spring residency to the longstanding fall residency, so we are now hosting two Roth Residents during each academic year.

We welcome writers Tennessee Jones and Alexander Lumans as the 2013-14 Roth Residents, as well as Justin Boening, last year's Roth Resident who is returning this year as Stadler Fellow. And we are very pleased to welcome back Carolina Ebeid for a second year in the Stadler Fellowship.

With All Best Wishes,

Shara McCallum
