Katie Hays is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English. She is the author of two books of poetry: Early Creatures, Native Gods (Carnegie Mellon 2012) and Dear Apocalypse (2009). Her poems have appeared recently or are forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, Colorado Review, Ploughshares, Southern Review, Best American Poetry (2009 and 2012), and many other venues. She has also published her fiction and verse translations in such magazines as The Hudson Review, Cimarron Review, and Gulf Coast. Katie earned an MFA at Brown University, and was recently poet-in-residence at the Frost Place in Franconia, New Hampshire. In addition to teaching at Bucknell during the 2013-2014 academic year, she will serve as Acting Editor of West Branch and Interim Director of the Bucknell Seminar for Younger Poets.
