Mihai M. Banciu joined Bucknell in 2007, when he started teaching quantitative courses with a managerial twist, such as Business Analytics and Financial Modeling, Global Supply Chain Management, or Quantitative Consumer Behavior. In general, his teaching interests revolve around the idea of embedding critical and systems-thinking in technology-based classes. Prior to coming to Bucknell, Mihai was a lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received an excellence in teaching award.

Banciu's scholarship interests lie at the intersection of operations research and marketing, in particular the problem of pricing bundles of products under capacity constraints. He is also interested in algorithms design for hard combinatorial problems, such as the design of resilient telecommunication networks.  He has authored and co-authored papers in leading operations journals, such as Management Science, Operations Research and European Journal of Operational Research.
