The Fitz Roy and Mary Jane Walling Management Endowment was graciously established in 2006 by Fitz Roy '46 and Mary Jane Walling. The Walling Fund supports management education at Bucknell, especially by funding the visits and lectures of scholars and experts in management to Bucknell students and faculty.
As an undergraduate, Fitz majored in education and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He was active with the Christian Association, Booster Club, Sigma Alpha Kappa, intramurals, and the Inter-fraternity Council. For more than 20 years, he served Bucknell as the director of admissions, and then worked in Bucknell's development department until his retirement in 1984. He was the 1983 recipient of the Alumni Association Loyalty to Bucknell Award.
Mary Jane was a 1954 graduate of Wilson College. She was a volunteer at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, for 35 years. She and Fitz raised two children: Susan Walling Bolig '79 and William Walling in the Lewisburg community. Mary Jane and Fitz were married for 55 years before Mary Jane passed away on November 5, 2011. Fitz died on July 31, 2014.
