FIRST Scholarships

FIRST Scholarships award $10,000 annually to undergraduate applicants who have participated on a FIRST team during their high school career.

Financial need is not a requirement.

Recipients will receive notifications along with their admissions decisions.

Recipients may pursue any undergraduate course of study at Bucknell, with first preference given to electrical engineering, computer engineering and computer science & engineering.

Applicants must have participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition at least one full season, been a member of a FIRST Tech Challenge team or been a mentor for a FIRST Lego League team during high school.

The FIRST Scholarship application includes a 500-word essay regarding your FIRST experience and potential career goals, and a letter of recommendation from an adult mentor/coach on your FIRST team.

What is FIRST?

FIRST — For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — was founded to inspire young people to become involved in science and technology through mentor-based programs including FIRST Lego League, FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition.
