A pride traceable to her student days as an undergraduate engineering student has motivated Claire Carlson to retain a strong bond of continuing affection for Bucknell, which has been exhibited by serving the university in every conceivable way possible for the past 30 years. In 1967, she was elected to the Bucknell Board of Trustees and was re-elected in 1974. Since that time she has served on the Committee for the 125th Anniversary Challenge Campaign, was a principal donor and co-chairman of the national campaign for the Recreational Sports Complex, and chairman of the Trustee Committee on University Relations. She has served as president of the Bucknell Club of Greater New York and was first vice president of the Board of Directors of the General Alumni Association. A member of the Bucknell Development Council, she is a charter member of William Bucknell Associates, the Bison Century Club, and the Committee of One Thousand.
