RuslingYou graduated from Bucknell in 1952, receiving a bachelor's degree in education. As an undergraduate, you were involved with Cap & Dagger, Chapel Choir, Christian Fellowship, student government, L'Agenda, Radio Workshop, and Phi Nu sorority. A member of Kappa Delta Epsilon, the education Donor society, you made the Dean's List four times.

Since graduation, you have been a loyal and tireless volunteer worker for your alma mater. You were a member of the Bucknell Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1992-97, and served as chair of the planning committee. Among your many activities for the university, you have been active as a Class Reporter, the editor of the 1982 Reunion Book, organized Bucknell club events, and have been the Class of 1952 Reunion program chair for both your 45 and 50 reunions. Continually strong benefactors of the university, you and your husband have established the Rusling Scholarship. One of your classmates, Don Manning, who nominated you for this award, wrote that: "Ruth's contributions to our university have been many and varied ... always bringing humility, understanding, charm, and, for sure, the ability to make real contributions through her many efforts."
The level and depth of your commitment to Bucknell has been most extraordinary. Your accomplishments, kindness, and dedication to alma mater have earned the respect and gratitude of your fellow alumni. It is therefore with the highest regard and warmest affection that on June 1, 2002, the Bucknell :alumni Association presents to Ruth Castner Rusling, Class of 1952, its award for Outstanding Loyalty and Service to Bucknell.
