Awarded to an alumnus or alumna whose professional accomplishments and achievements are exceptionally noteworthy and distinctive in his/her profession.

As an undergraduate, Peter Diamandis majored in commerce and finance. He was vice president of Kappa Sigma fraternity, president of the Student Athletic Board, a member of the Christian Association, and active with WVBU and L'Agenda. In the 35 years since his graduation, his career has been marked by progressive change and creative innovation. After serving in the Navy, he set course on a career in communications. In 1957, he joined Grey Advertising and, a few years later, moved to an advertising agency in which he later became a partner and director. He sold his share of the company several years later and became the publisher of Mademoiselle magazine and, in the next decade, served as publisher for New York Magazine, New West magazine, Self magazine, and GEO magazine. In 1983, he was named president of CBS Publishing, the mushrooming magazine division of the giant broadcaster. Four years later, he arranged to buy the CBS Magazine division - the biggest magazine purchase in history at that time. Aptly enough, the new firm was renamed Diamandis Communications Inc. Eventually, Diamandis Communications was sold to Hachette, the French publishing giant. In a 1980 interview, Diamandis was described as "an entrepreneur at heart who approaches business with a sense of adventure."
