Awarded to an alumnus or alumna whose selfless and caring work and deeds benefit society and humankind.

As an undergraduate, Patricia Coker studied biology and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She was active in student government, sang with the chorale, and made the Dean's List four times.

Having earned her medical degree from Temple University's School of Medicine, She has long been a physician with the Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation and Family Practice Center in Waterloo.
For 15 years, she has been a volunteer for Cedar Valley Hospice, working with patients and their families who have exhausted medical and surgical treatment. She has been the volunteer medical director for Cedar Valley Hospice for nearly 10 years. Along with this incredible dedication of time and energy, she also has traveled internationally for her church to offer medical aid to people in isolated communities and has raised three children.

She has been named the Cedar Valley Volunteer of the Year, the St. Edward's Church Volunteer of the Year, and has earned the Cedar Valley Hospice Volunteer Award.
