Awarded to an alumnus or alumna whose selfless and caring work and deeds benefit society and humankind.

As an undergraduate studying commerce and finance, Stephen Neuville was extremely active with Phi Lambda Theta fraternity, the NAACP, the Interfraternity Council, the Officers' Club, Touche, and the Bucknellian. He also was a dean's list student.

Following service in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant, he worked in journalism for four years before joining his family's business, then known as Neuville-Mobil Socks. He has been with the company since 1967, rising to the position of president in 1982, and currently holding the titles of chairman and chief executive officer.

Under his leadership, Neuville Industries has been a pioneer in the field of humane employee relations and benefits. The company opened one of North Carolina's first on-site childcare facilities. In 1979, the center cared for five children of employees. Today, there are 90 children enrolled in the day care facility. Neuville Industries has been at the forefront of creating full benefit packages for employees, providing opportunities for women in corporate management, and in providing health and exercise facilities at the workplace. For six consecutive years, Neuville Industries has been recognized by Working Mother Magazine as one of the 100 best companies in the nation for working mothers.

Stephen Neuville has received many distinguished honors and holds a number of volunteer positions in his community, including serving on the Catawba County Science Center Board of Directors, the Lenoir Rhyne College Business Council Board of Directors, and the Catawba Valley Community College Board of Trustees. He is currently the first vice chairman of the National Association of Hosiery Manufacturers and have served as president of the Northvale Board of Education.

In 1996, he established the Neuville Family Scholarship at Bucknell.
