Awarded to an alumnus or alumna of the last 15 years whose professional accomplishments, service to alma mater, and/or selfless and caring work to benefit society are distinctive.

Shari Aser

Shari Aser '98, graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering. While a student she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, the Panhellenic Council, the Womens' Crew Team, and the senior gift drive chair.

After graduation Shari joined IBM as a database sales representative and has served in various roles at IBM ever since including client executive for Bank of New York and Goldman Sachs. She is currently Software Sales Manager for Financial Markets managing a team of sales representatives that are responsible for 16 firms including Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and the NY Stock Exchange.

Shari has been a member of the Women's Bond Club since 2002 and received the "Rising Star Award" in 2004. This award recognizes individuals with 5 to 8 years of industry experience with the potential to become a future leader in the financial markets. Throughout her career, Shari has pursued educational opportunities to expand her knowledge, including The Nonprofit Boards Clearinghouse course. Shari was recently accepted into the Cornell University Executive MBA program and looks forward to earning this degree while she continues working at IBM.

Shari knew the moment she first saw Bucknell's campus that this was "it" for her. After graduation, her enthusiasm for Bucknell continued. Motivated by her many fond memories of her engineering classmates and professors, Shari has served on the board of the Bucknell Engineering Alumni Association for over 7 years. She chairs its admissions committee, and is the leader of the Women in Engineering Initiative whose goal is to increase the recruitment, yield, and retention of female engineering students. She has also served as gift chair for her fifth reunion and presently is co-chairman of her tenth year reunion. Shari chaired the Graduates of the Last Decade committee for five years, has been an alumni interviewing coordinator, and a college fair representative for Fairfield County CT for the past ten years.

Shari has also given many hours of service to her community. She is a member of the Junior League of the City of New York and she has been a leader in its volunteer development and training. She has continued her involvement with Delta Gamma, and is currently President of the Fairfield County CT Alumni Chapter as well as its Panhellenic delegate.

For her extraordinary commitment to Bucknell, her community, and her profession it is with great pleasure that The Bucknell Alumni Association honors Shari Aser with its Young Alumni Award.
