The Distinguished Citizenship Award was established to recognize Bucknell alumni and supporters who accept citizenship values and responsibilities esteemed by the founders of the University who, in 1846, crafted a University mission seeking to "educate our students to serve the common good and to promote justice in ways sensitive to the moral and ethical dimensions of life."
