Join us as we inaugurate the beautifully restored Grand Piano in the Weis Center's Lobby. Sezi Seskir will perform works by Bach, Scarlatti, Beethoven and Chopin followed by an elegant dessert reception.

The Steinway & Sons 1920 Model Long A Grand Piano was donated by Robert S. Neumann '63 and Sara (Matthews) Neumann '63 in honor of their 50th Reunion and 50th wedding anniversary.

Sezi Seskir received her first degree in piano in her native Ankara, Turkey. She went on with her studies in Lübeck Musikhochschule in Germany with Prof. Konstanze Eickhorst, where in 2005 she completed degrees both in artistic and pedagogical piano. Along with many solo recitals she gave in Europe, the United States and Turkey, she also performed with various orchestras as a soloist. Seskir completed her D.M.A. degree with Malcolm Bilson at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the use of tempo rubato in Robert Schumann's keyboard music. She has given numerous lecture-recitals at schools such as Princeton University, Trinity College of London, UC Berkeley, and Stanford. Seskir is currently editing Schumann's Op. 18 &19 piano works for the Schumann complete edition.
