If You've Been Assaulted

  • Find a safe place.
  • Call or find someone you can trust to listen.
  • Consider contacting an Advocate.
  • Strongly consider seeking immediate medical attention. If you do decide to get a forensic exam, do not bathe, go to the bathroom, or brush your teeth. Store any clothing that you were wearing at the time in a paper bag. This exam can be conducted up to 96 hours following an incident.

How to Help a Student

If you see something, say something.

Positive bystanders are individuals who witness emergencies or situations that could lead to criminal events and choose to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating.

The bystander approach to sexual violence prevention puts the responsibility of stopping sexual violence on the community, rather than on the victim-survivor.
