First-year students are not permitted vehicles on campus but one may still get around the greater Lewisburg area and downtown using our Student Transit programs. Bucknell offers a downtown shuttle, medical transportation and a car sharing program. Additionally, the university offers one of the most unique airport and train station shuttle programs in the country. During university breaks, at the beginning and at the end of our Fall and Spring Terms, shuttles run at various times to multiple airports, the Harrisburg Transportation Center, the Greater New England area and the greater New York area. Dates and times are published for the academic year and may be viewed on our webpages. Reservation requests for airport and train station shuttle rides are made using the "Students" block in the middle of our webpages.
Our daily downtown shuttle loops from campus to the Barnes & Noble University Bookstore, Evangelical Hospital, Weis Markets and the Wal-Mart on route 15. The fixed route and timetables are viewable on our webpages. Everyone with their valid BUID Card may ride for no charge.
The Zipcar car sharing program is open to all students (18+ years old) having a valid driver's' license and good driving record. One may submit their Zipcar membership application from our webpages.
