If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, there are many options and resources available on campus and in the local community:

  • Contact the Bucknell Advocates to seek help and discuss your medical, legal, and support options.
  • Call 911, Public Safety, or contact the Title IX Coordinator to report the incident.
  • Go to Bucknell Student Health or the Evangelical Community Hospital to receive medical treatment.
  • Request a forensic exam to collect and preserve evidence. Evangelical Community Hospital has a trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner on call 24/7 to provide sensitive care and forensic exams to victims.
    • The Advocates are able to arrange transportation to the hospital and accompany a student while they seek medical treatment.
    • While it is recommended that a victim take measures such as not showering or changing clothes before a forensic exam, an exam can still be performed regardless.
    • Forensic exams can be conducted up to 96 hours after a sexual assault
  • Seek support and help from the Counseling and Student Development Center
    • The Counseling and Student Development Center phone line (570.577.1604) is available 24/7, 365 days a year, and is available to all students on and off campus.
    • Walk-in hours are 3 - 4 p.m. on weekdays in their office in the Graham Building.
    • All CSDC services are free.
  • Contact the Title IX Coordinator to request no-contact orders or supportive measures (including, but not limited to: academic flexibility, housing changes, and employment modifications)
    • Supportive measures can be implemented without moving forward with an investigation.

The above measures are options that should be chosen based on the needs and desires of the victim-survivor. Every person responds to, and heals from, sexual assault and trauma differently.
