During construction, more than 90% of construction waste was diverted from disposal in landfills. Recyclable resources were redirected back to the manufacturing process.
A construction waste plan formulated prior to construction identified waste items which would be separated and diverted from landfills or recycled. Such items included wood, asphalt, concrete, brick, metals, cardboard, paper, and drywall. Designated dumpsters for these items were labeled and monitored during construction.
