Bucknell’s graphic identity has a significant impact on how the University is perceived by people both within and outside the institution. By conveying a consistent image, Bucknell can build a strong identity with its audiences.

The graphics standards set forth on these have been approved by the University Policy Group as a way of ensuring a strong visual identity for Bucknell. By providing a consistent image for our key constituents, the University’s name recognition and visibility will be enhanced.

As Bucknell strives to achieve an even stronger position among other colleges and universities, it will be important that all departments, offices, and programs follow the guidelines outlined in this document. With your help, we can achieve a graphic unity that will present the University as a cohesive institution to all its audiences.

Persons producing university publications must follow the guidelines contained on these pages.

Exceptions to this policy are publications produced by student organizations or student-edited publications, the University Press, and Aperçus.

Graphic identity is created through the use of logos, typography, and colors to create a clearly recognizable look for an institution. A successful graphic identity program will help Bucknell enhance its image by establishing a "look" for all University materials. This does not mean that all materials must look exactly alike. It does mean, however, that they all are part of the same family through a consistent use of the word mark, typefaces, and colors. A graphic identity program will help Bucknell project a strong, unified, and professional image to all audiences, even though communications come from separate units across campus.
